Assoc. Prof. PhDr. Dana Petranová, PhD. She obtained the academic degree Philosophiae Doctor (PhD.) in the field of Marketing Communication and Advertising at the Faculty of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, with the topic of her dissertation thesis being Media education in the process of education in Slovakia, focusing on the development of critical thinking competencies. She defended the academic degree of Associate Professor in habilitation thesis on the topic Media literacy of seniors. Currently, she is the dean of the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. Her research activities are concentrated on the area of media education, the development of media competence, media effects on audiences, the roles of the media in the socialization process, and analysis of the audience. She is a co-organizer of scientific conferences and participates in several national and international projects, particularly in the field of media communication, media literacy development, quality improvement and innovation in the academic environment. Dana Petranova is a member of the following international organizations and networks: European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), UNESCO-UNAOC UNITWIN Network for Media and Information Literacy, European Association for Viewers Interests (EAVI), EU Kids Online: Multinational Research Network (EUKO).
