Gabriel Matthew Lopez

Hon. Gabriel Matthew Lopez is SK Chairperson of Barangay Kanluran Kabubuhayan and National Convener of Model SK Network. He advocates for responsible media use as a member of Philippine Association of Media and Information Literacy and International Association for Media Education in Brussels Germany and actively promotes Freedom of Information (FOI) through policy lobbying and public awareness. He was awarded by the DILG on his contribution to the department and Sangguniang Kabataan last 2024. With his advocacy, he was one of the recipients of the prestigious Benilde Trailblaizer Stratup (BTS) Awards worth of 500,000 Pesos at the PBED JobsNext's NEXTGEN Hackathon this will help develop the skills needed to solve Industry 4.0 challenges. He sponsored the first Model SK Youth Code in his barangay and drafted its provincial version. Representing the Philippines, he has spoken at DCN Global Forums in Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Manila, focusing on youth media, digital literacy, and transformation.
