László Hartai

Chairman of the Hungarian Moving Picture and Media Education Assosiation. He completed his degrees in Budapest Film Academy as a director and cinematographer. László Hartai participated in a team that worked out the requirement of the Moving Image Culture and Media Knowledge subject in the National Curriculum, and also participated to create the curriculum for the subject (1995-2012). He developed the updated exam modell and requirements for A level of the subject called Moving Image Culture and Media Study in 2003. He wrote the first course book, thesaurus, exercise book and methodology in Moving Image and Media Knowledge in Hungary (1998-2013). He was leader of commitees many times for the final exams of the secondary school and competitions for students. He represented the Hungarian Film- and Media Education in International Conferences (e.g. Amiens, 1993; Toronto, 2000; Belfast, Oulu 2004, Bellaria 2009; Bruxelles, 2006/11, Paris 2014). In 2009 he was an expert on a project for the EU Commeettee of Regions (Regional Perspectives in developing media literacy and media education in EU educational policy). He was a leading expert of EU27 Film Literacy research led by BFI for the EU, and a professional leader researcher of Hungarian Institute for Educational Research and Development (OFI) that takes part as a consortium partner in an other EU project called European Media Literacy Education Study (EMEDUS). Currently, he is a leading expert in the Digital Children Protection Strategy Program, where many research and training programs are being launched in Hungary.
