Call for Input: Media Literacy Matters

IAME will collaborate on Media Literacy Matters’, the European Digital and Media Literacy Conference taking place from February 27 to March 1, 2024 in Brussels (Belgium). Do you want to share your media literacy initiative or insights with media literacy practitioners from all over Europe? We are looking for inspiring presentations! Submit your proposal before 10th November.

The organisers of this event are looking for inspiring and motivating presentations for the conference. Each submitted proposal should be able to fit within one of these three broader themes: 

  1. From disinformation to critical trust (e.g. MIL interventions with proven effect, disinformation challenges to society, Initiaves & campaigns to large audiences) 
  2. Digital and Media Literacy for all: how to reach everybody? (e.g. interventions in formal, nonformal and informal education, media literacy among vulnerable groups, media literacy training for professionals, …)
  3. The future of Digital and Media Literacy (e.g. Media literacy in the immersive era, AI media literacy practices, privacy and data security, …)

All proposals must be submitted via the online form no later than November 10, 2023. Only a complete submission is qualified for review. Before you submit, make sure you have followed all instructions below:

The following presentation formats are accepted:

  • Live presentations
  • Inspiring talks
  • Panel sessions
  • Facilitated discussions
  • Workshops
  • Posters/Demonstrations
  • Roundtables
  • Pecha kucha
  • Other: explain the desired presentation format and provide details on the preparatory work expected of participants (if applicable). Describe how the content will be presented.

Proposal requirements

All proposals must be submitted via the online form. Each proposal must meet the following conditions:

  • Session title
  • Topic of focus
  • Short description (max. 300 words)
  • Session presenter(s) information
  • At least two action-oriented learning objectives
  • Brief description of proposed session format

  • Submission Deadline November 10, 2023
  • Committee Review Timeline November 11 – 19, 2023
  • Notification of Selection Week of November 20, 2023
