Global Media and Information Literacy Week was be organized in Cameroon by the Cameroon Media Education Association (EDUK-MEDIA). Initially with students from secondary schools in 4 cities in the country where there are members of the association.
The theme focussed on fake news. Students learned how not to fall into the trap of misinformation. In a second time, a conference debate was held in only in the city of Yaoundé, with academics, media professionals and other associations. The sub-themes focussed on: hate speech on social networks, misinformation, issues and perspectives of media education in Cameroon .
